In his latest Shot of Awe, Jason Silva examines death and mortality. Quoting Alan Harrington, from The Immortalist "Death has become an imposition on the human race and is no longer acceptable."

According to Jason Silva, "If the cosmos is comfortable with entropy, it doesn't mean I have to be with comfortable with entropy."

In his latest Shot of Awe, "Mortality," Silva reflects on what death means and how the Singularity may overcome it.  Echoing Kurzweil, he asks what if we are able to master biotechnology and our software starts writing its own hardware - our own form of intelligent design.

Silva says that with these developments, death would no longer be necessary.
