4 Technologically Advanced Pieces of Factory Equipment for the 21st Century

⯀ Manufacturing technology has changed over the years. There are still aspects of it that are a held over from its roots. Here are some of the ways that technology is revolutionizing factory equipment.


3D Printing Capabilities

The 3D printer has changed how parts and accessories can be made. For smaller scale items, you may be able to skip over the factory altogether. This offers you more flexibility when it comes to creating specialized pieces of equipment. Some factories are installing these printers as a way to reduce the amount of time that it takes to fabricate products. Product prototypes used to have to be created by hand. Computer software programs allow you to design and customize things for the needs of your business.

Robotic Innovations

You may have heard that someday robots are going to take over the world. This may be true to a certain extent. Robotic technology is eliminating some of the risk and tedium that was often associated with those employed by a factory. More skilled labor is needed for those that work in a factory environment. This is because you don’t need to have as much hands on skills putting together basic items. The robots can handle the assembly tasks. Your job becomes repairing and programming these pieces of equipment.

Manufacturing processes have come a long way since their inception. The use of forming oil in and of itself changed how molds were created for parts of a greater whole. Many of these advanced manufacturing processes are using materials that are stronger in nature, such as carbon fiber and graphene. These materials are producing products that are lighter and more durable. Advanced manufacturing employs the use of more technological advanced equipment that is still recognizable from earlier renditions.
 

Automation at its Finest

The world is becoming more automated in general. Many of these techniques are combined to remove the element of human error out of the equation. Computer programs and the use of AI, to a limited extent, are requiring that factory workers have more schooling. You may need an engineering degree just to be able to compete in the workplace. All of these advancements are in an effort to become more competitive in the global market.

There are lots of new pieces of equipment that are making the factory setting more efficient and technologically advanced. Most are based on computer software that require factory employees to obtain an advanced degree in science or technology.
